PU ERH
Whether a newly broken-into vintage block of cooked tea or a small nest of mellow raw leaves, Pu Erh is unique among all teas for its musty, grounding flavour due to its unusual processing which involves fermentation.
Much like a fine wine, Pu Erh improves in flavour and value with age, and in its native China, it has been known to exist as a form of currency. The oldest Pu Erh teas are now sought-after collectibles.
This extraordinary beverage is also revered for its traditional health benefits which include being a very good digestive aid. Pu Erh is said to take its name from a trading post in Yunnan province, where aged and fermented dark tea was traded en route to other countries. All Pu Erh teas come from Yunnan province.
